What it does
BlokBaca is a daily reading drill for early readers who know their letter sounds but cannot blend them into words yet. Short quests move from sounds to syllables to words, and every finished quest earns a block to build with, so practice feels like a game.
Built for home use
- Malay first, with English words added later.
- Works offline on a phone as an installable app. No account and no server: progress stays on the device.
- A parent area behind a PIN lets a parent record their own voice for each sound, which replaces the robot voice.
How it is built
Vue 3, Vite and Tailwind as a PWA. Voice recordings are saved in the browser's IndexedDB. A 39-step browser test walks through setup, a full quest, drag-and-drop and a recording before every release.
