ZAIMS
A multi-module asset and inventory system with role-based logins and a guided walkthrough, handed to the client as a working demo instead of a proposal deck.
What it is
ZAIMS is an asset and inventory management system for an offshore oil and gas services company: stock across the warehouse, onshore sites and vessels, material requests raised from the field, and certificates for equipment, vehicles and drivers, all in one place.
Why a working demo, not a deck
Most proposals at this stage are a slide deck. I handed over a working system instead, with role-based logins and a guided walkthrough, so the people who would use it every day could click through their own workflow before anything was signed. The demo is the portfolio.
How it is built
- Vue 3 on Cloudflare Pages, with a Pages Functions API, D1 for the data and KV for sessions.
- Three roles, super user, admin and worker, each seeing only its own screens.
- Every stock movement and every approval stamped with who and when, so the ledger explains itself later.
How it works, screen by screen
Dashboard
- One screen for the questions a manager asks first: what is running low, what is waiting for approval, what needs servicing.
- Each tile opens the list behind it. Nine modules, all live in the demo.
Inventory
- Stock by item and location across warehouse, onshore sites and vessels, with minimum levels and a movement history per line.
- Receiving and issuing are two-step forms with a reason code, so the ledger explains itself later.
Material request
- A field user raises a request from a phone; a supervisor approves; the store issues against it.
- Every step is stamped with who and when, and the requester sees the status without asking.
Certificates
- Every certificate with its expiry, a compliance percentage at the top, and a verify action that only the right role can press.
- Roles in the demo: super user, admin, worker, each seeing only its own screens.
