Jarvis & Friday
Two personal AI agents on Telegram that run around the clock on a small server, use an existing ChatGPT subscription, and hand heavy jobs to your PC.
What it is
A personal assistant setup you talk to from your phone. Jarvis is the companion: it remembers you, runs a morning briefing and keeps your reminders. Friday is the doer: it connects to apps such as your calendar and email and picks up skills from a community marketplace. Both answer only you, on Telegram.
How it is put together
- A small Linux server that is always on, costing a few dollars a month, runs both agents as background services.
- Both agents use an existing ChatGPT Plus or Pro subscription as their brain, so there is no separate AI bill.
- Tailscale joins the server and your PC on a private network. Heavy jobs such as video conversion go to the PC when it is on, and the agents tell you when it is off.
- Each agent has its own Telegram bot, locked to your account, and uses a separate spare Google account for anything it connects to.

How it works, screen by screen
Phone
- Both agents live in Telegram on your phone, one bot each, and ignore anyone who is not you.
- Jarvis sends a morning briefing, keeps reminders and understands voice notes.
The server
- A small always-on server runs both agents as services that restart on boot.
- Each agent signs in to the same ChatGPT subscription on its own, with no API key anywhere.
Your PC
- The PC joins over Tailscale as a limited worker account, never an administrator.
- Heavy jobs run there when it is on. When it is off, the agent says so instead of hanging.
